Child and Adolescent Therapy
My approach to individual therapy services is relational but also practical and goal-oriented. I treat children and teens, ages 3 and up for a range of emotional and behavioral concerns including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation challenges, noncompliance, grief, life transitions and trauma. Play therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, combined with experience and insights gained from working with clients over the years, inform my work.
I have a special interest in therapy for anxiety including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, phobias and selective mutism. Working with anxiety typically involves a cognitive behavioral approach along with parent support. I have completed the Selective Mutism Training Institute (SMTI) for Professionals and am experienced in providing PCIT-SM (Parent Child Interaction Therapy for Selective Mutism). I am also a trained SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) provider and am certified in TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).
